I'm sure many of you (including me) are wondering what string dampener Guthrie has around the nut of the guitar. It does not appear to be a hair tie. I was wondering who manufactures these dampeners and where can you purchase one?, for all of us existing to emulate Guthrie's every lick and move |

I can't seem to find any that work well. Steer clear of the thin elastic band type ones, they don't do a great job. _________________ Soon to be proud user of Suhr and hopefully Cornford |

I've occasionally used a wrist sweat-band (think tennis) for sixteen years. Not as smooth to flip on and of though. I also used to use hairband ŕ la Guthrie for a while when I started out, but I found them not damping the strings enough. Now they seem fine though, but mostly I try not to use a dampener. It's mainly for recording.
Always practice without!
