Man, I see DF is just all over the place and the subject of some spirited mudslinging at the good ole Petrucci forum. You know, if the kids like it, cool. I'd probably dislike 99.95% (or more) of the music that's out there if I had to listen to everything that's thrown out on the market for public consumption. It's hard enough to keep up with the 0.05% (or less) that I do like.

But why is it called "powermetal"? There's nothing "power" about it. Confused Like I said, the kids into these bands and players will grow up soon enough. They'll actually start thinking more when they enter college. Razz

Dragonforce have little in common with the power metal movement of the late '80's and early '90's. Check out Helloween or Gamma Ray for examples of good ol' powah mettle.

Masterplan's self-titled album and early Sonata Arctica are also prime examples.
