I'm not sure how old this is. But I haven't seen this before.
It's a tutorial on chromatics with guthrie on LickLibrary.com with a video lesson too.
I imagine it's quite old as guthrie is playing a horrible bright red ibanez.
Still, it's interesting to hear and watch:

Sorry if everyone already knows about it, I haven't seen it posted on here.
Also apolgies if this should go in the media section.
Josh
PS did any of the UK guys see Phil Hilborne on BBC breakfast news this morning (25/08/06) talking about and playing guitars? He almost mentioned Guthrie when asked who was the new guitar god these days, but ended up just mentioning the GT staff as a whole. |

GT has Pete Callard, Jamie Humphries, Dave Kill-monster, Jason Sidwell ... a shed load of talent. I don't reckon Guthrie'd mind being put with those guys.. but a mention from Mr Hilbourne woulda been timely.
Lydian Dominant tutorial - files for later reference... I bet he name checks the Simpsons theme _________________ Fabulous powers were revealed to me the day I held my magic Suhr(d) aloft and said "by the power of great scale!"

very true frankus,
I've had lessons with quite a few of the GT staff over the years at the Bath International Guitar Festival. Now I help out there. And all the GT staff are awesome teachers and players.
One guy I think who doesn't get enough credit around here is John Wheatcroft, that guy is insane. He can do fusion, rock, blues, 'proper' jazz, and is an amazing gypsy jazz guitarist. AND he's just as good at bass, in fact I think he plays bass for carl palmer. |

Undoubtably, he almost went into a rant in a BIMM lesson about people always using the Simpson's theme as an example of Lydian (not dom) . |
