Fives Tapping lick @ 1:58

So, this is my interpretation of that very tricky lick. It involves big stretches with legato and tapping technique. For those who are not familiar with this type of phrases and how to play it, give yourselves a look at Reb Beach tapping technique, which is very similar to what Guthrie does.

Just in case you want to it, I made a tab of the little tapping lick he does in THIS VIDEO at 1:02 ish. The ending may be a little off but the general idea seems right to me.

Therag, since you asked nicely, Here's as much as I've seen tabbed of Fives: As a note, for the first riff, I've seen the G on the A string written as a C on the D string before too. I personally play it as a G, though I haven't listened to see which is correct.

Just for the record, the notes written as L are ones tied to the previous note.

WOW! thats truly incredible, you must have some epic perfect pitch happening with your ears, or you just really used to the guitars notes. i wish i could say the same, its just to fast for me to hear sometimes! but thanks a lot! i really appreciate it!!

Please don't credit me. I tabbed one tapping lick in fives and that's it. Those were done by other people. I just turned guitar pro into text. However I AM going to tab the rest of fives and sevens.

hey guys i have like a full fives guitar pro file that i could post if you all want but i have no idea who to credit for doing the tab and like im not sure its 100% accurate but it is a full tab from the album that i accidentally came across on the net at some point so give me a shout if you want it posted

If someone made it and put it on the internet, I'd assume they want other people to see it, so as long as you don't claim that it's yours I wouldn't think they'd mind too much. Plus, they could stop by and say Hey, I made that, and we'd all say Good job!, or someone might recognize it and say who made it.

For example, the tab for 5's I posted was primarily done by another member, but I don't remember who, so I'm not claiming credit, except for one tapping lick that I did myself.

As for accuracy, I'm sure the other people on here and I would be happy to improve any mistakes. It's generally easier to correct a bad tab than make one from scratch.



Devon, the sections of tab that look like sheet music typically come from programs like powertabs, guitar pro, sibelius, or tuxguitar. Then at least how I've seen it done, they are converted into PDF's and then images. If you want tab like I posted, which is the very neatly organized text, that was done by guitar pro exported as ASCII, then copied and posted.

Therag, I'm not sure what the chords under it are. I haven't worked on the backing chords yet.

haha well since you asked so nicely shred201 i shall post it for everyone to have a look at and correct any mistakes they think there is but yeah im taking no credit for it im just gonna post it but i still dont understand why this hasnt shown up on any tab sites or anything :S oh well lol

I see a couple things to improve, but that's pretty nice. Good find man. If no one takes credit so I can convince them to throw it on a tab site I may have to do it myself....
