Great tab of Wonderful Slippery Thing! I can't get Waves to work though...I have GP5. It says "please update Guitar Pro software".

I had the same error message with GP5. You need to get the 5.1 update.

I'm on my way back to work right now. I'll scan the "Waves" tab I wrote out yesterday afternoon and post it late tonight.

edit to add:

Thanks for your commends. I think you might be right about the transition. If you sub. the 5 fret 5th string with an open D it will flow nicely. ( Flow.. Waves ) I love it.

Would like to hear ( see ) your scan of the next section. If we all chip in we might finish the tune sooner than later.

And yes, this song is ALL about getting it to FLOW...
I'd love to see this turn into a group MISSION to get the complete song tabbed (along with Slidey, Fives, Sevens, etc)!

OK, as promised, here's what I did yesterday afternoon. I'll apologize in advance for my sloppy and inconsistent notation. Sometimes I used parentheses to indicate bend and/or bend & release - I guess you'll have to listen to the song and figure it out. Sometimes I write B and R and draw arrows and whatnot. Again, sorry for the confusion.

Another note: I wrote some "suggested" fingerings on part of this first scan. Refer to my reply to 2BKing on page 2 of this thread regarding a revised suggested fingering.

Here's the first scan:

EDIT: here is a minor revision
EDIT #2: I don't play it like this anymore. See my youtube vid link in my post below.

Please keep in mind these were done with Slow-Downer software so they're not completely accurate since I had to slow it down so much that the notes didn't even sound like notes at times. But it's a start!

Here's the second scan:

Don't hurt yourself playing this stuff. Enjoy!

I edited my first scan (three posts above this one). Just some fingering changes. It flows pretty good like this, for me at least.

I had some free time yesterday and did a little video of my current fingering for the first bit of "Waves". I'm still working on getting the "flow" down. I'm inconsistent in my "technique" and I actually asked some JP forum guys for some advice (still no response yet). If any of you have ideas on how to practice this legato/slide thing he does in Waves, feel free to share. I feel like I'm running around in circles just playing it over and over again, without any real "keys" to focus on...thus, the inconsistent phrasing (and inaccuracies).

So, here's my baseline take on the first bit of Waves. It's a first take. It is what it is. Yeah, I know it gets choppy toward the end - sometimes I nail it, other times, not so much. Thoughts? Alternate fingerings? Any constructive criticism is appreciated.
