Is Pride & Joy strictly a Texas shuffle? I thought that was stuff like T-Bone Shuffle and Frosty, but I'm sure there are actual Texans on the board that could fill me in.

As for Pride and Joy, that groove is definitely his but I seem to remember seeing somewhere that his intention was to combine John Lee Hooker, Boogie-Woogie piano and Hubert Sumlin's stuff with Wolf. Funny to think that, as ubiquitous as it is on modern blues records now, it was quite original and new when Texas Flood first came out.
