Now I've got the Suhr and I love it. I'm thinking of modding the 84 strat so that the jack socket is in the same place as Suhrs rather than mounted where the 2nd tone control should be. This'd mean I get the second tone back and I can wire the guitar with a super-switch and get some nice sounds.
Question is, should I drill a hole in the body of this old and distinctive (albeit much maligned) Stratocaster? _________________ Fabulous powers were revealed to me the day I held my magic Suhr(d) aloft and said "by the power of great scale!"

just leave it the way it is. is it really worth it? should be a very useable/tweakable axe anyway. but if you're the one with the skills and the time, what the hell!
Hmm, I might have the skills but what a hell of a way to find out and I don't have the time... meh.
Curse your pragmatism you're right.
I need to sell the G3T I think it's spoiling my appreciation of the guitar. Of course if I do that then I'll have to take a Strat to work... so I might need to get another Strat as the 84 is ... and the Suhr ... hmm
I really liked the idea of being so cool and canny as to be able to bring back an 84 strat and make it cool... maybe I should accept it isn't cool but plays great. _________________ Fabulous powers were revealed to me the day I held my magic Suhr(d) aloft and said "by the power of great scale!"
