As I'm sure many of you have noticed, the forums on the Online Discussions Network have been behaving rather oddly the past week. Due to the network's rather explosive growth (including this forum dedicated to Guthrie), Dave (kirk95 here) initiated the move of the network contents to a larger server and the migration hasn't been trouble-free. Access problems, getting booted out, losing posts, losing memberships, etc. are some of the problems the forums in the Online network has been experiencing.
Dave says the migration is almost complete now and that once done, it will be back to normal with much improved performance (speed!). So please bear with the little glitches and the resulting frustrations for a little while longer, guys. I know I've been quite frustrated at various times during the week, but what can we do? The migration will be complete and all the gremlins will be rooted out soon. Thanks for your understanding! _________________ Ed Yoon

Shame about the loss of some threads ,if you had shell access to the server you could have done:
Code:
msqldump -a $forum | mysql -h $newserver -u $user -p $password new_forum
mysql has some really tasty scripts for that kinda thing _________________ Fabulous powers were revealed to me the day I held my magic Suhr(d) aloft and said "by the power of great scale!"

Ahhh...perhaps that's why I'm finding that I have to log in twice before it recognizes me on a new machine/browser. Is anyone else finding that to be the case?

Anyway, good luck with the transition.
I have seen this happen on a few older versions of phpBB. _________________ ...the torch has been passed...
