From the latest Jamtrackcentral-Newsletter:

Add to the mix more stellar contributions from Mr Govan. You like him, right? Well, let's see... maybe we could prepare another detailed solo transcription for you. And if this was not enough, contemplate, if you will, the complete set of backing tracks to the ‘Erotic Cakes’ album. With transcriptions of the main themes from each track, to get you started. |

We've got threads that are years old talking about the EC backing tracks. At one point, we thought they were close but apparently the project got set aside indefinitely. Maybe now this is finally going to happen.
I would also be willing to pay more than the usual rate per track, given the difficulties these guys have with low sales volume, pirated copies, and all that. I'd drop most everything else I've been studying to dig into these EC tunes. Do it!! |

Your support is very much appreciated, stratoskier
As you say, our original idea for this project had to be shelved; Guthrie's growing success just meant it wasn't practical to dedicate the necessary time. This one is for real, though.
We're not sure exactly what the package will contain yet (apart from the backing tracks, obviously). We'll be consulting with Guthrie to make sure that he's totally happy with the content, but the package will definitely be released very soon! _________________ http://www.custom-transcription.com

Well this is what the Jamtrackcentral newsletter said today:
"The Erotic Cakes backing track package is proving to be one of our most popular products... and it doesn't even exist yet! We appreciate your patience, and we really will be releasing it during the next couple of weeks.
Guthrie has been on tour again with Dizzee Rascal, proving what a thoroughly diverse and versatile guitarist he is, and now he's back, we'll be putting the finishing touches to the Tab book.
Remember... this is an official GG-approved product, with 100% accurate Tab, overseen by the man himself!"
Needless to say I'm f*cking excited!!! That's gonna keep me busy for this coming winter...and the next ten years! |

Really? No solos? Well, then I have to admit that I'm a bit disappointed, but I guess that's life and most of the time you can't get what you want. I read the words "Tab Book" and thought :"here comes a new bible!!!".
I'll have to find something else that exciting to do for the next few months.
Jamming over the backing tracks will be a lot of fun though. |
