Nothing too exciting, but for posterity at least...
http://www.steelbender.com/mpeg/summernamm2003/cornfordbriggs1.mpg - short clip of Guthrie bluesing out.
http://www.graphtech.bc.ca/ghost_faq.asp#q3 - Guthrie trying out MIDI thinamajig...
UPDATE: Scroll down to Kabuki's post for the link to the Ron Thal/Guthrie Govan NAMM jam video. Now that's a bit of a mouthful.

Thanks for posting the links to these little clips. Always a cool thing to see Guthrie play even if only for a minute. I'll be posting a Guthrie Clips 2 page on the TM site with footage from the Fellowship DVD. It should be going up in a few days.
I got some avi clips from Ron Thal of the clinic he did here in Jan., but the clips are real short and the sound mix isn't all that great with not as much guitar footage as I would have liked (more singing and talking than playing). Perhaps there's another clip. Would love to see it with Guthrie and Ron jamming together. I missed that portion of the clinic as I was out on the front working on some other things at the time. _________________ Ed Yoon

Dumbass. Oh and by the way, "the torch has been passed" ???? How many balled up pieces of scrap paper did you toss into the garbage Einstein before you stumbled onto that one?

I just saw the Thal/Govan jam video. I haven't had a chance until now as I 've been unable to use a computer with the Indeo video codec installed, and obviously Uni computers (which I generally use, don't own a computer myself) prohibit me from installing anything on them without administrator's privileges. Anyway, clip was cool but nothing mindblowing. From some comments I've read I expected it to rock the free world and them some, but it was just a casual, kinda messy jam. It's nice to be reminded that these guys are human. I think if they'd sat and played for another 10 minutes some incredible stuff would've come out though. |
