hello all i have been experimenting lately with my pedals but i cant seem to reach which fits perfectly well where..... please i would like you to help me out by suggesting a signal chain strating off with the guitar
the pedals are :
Fulltone OCD
Fulltone OCtafuzz
T-Rex Mudhoney
Keeley Compressor
TC Electronic Sustain + PArametric EQ
RC Booster
Analogman Clone Chorus with deep option
Retro Sonic Phaser
Boss OD-2
Boss DM-2
Electroharmonix Micro Synth
Guyatone WR-3
Crybaby Wah
my latest chain is guitar>crybaby > WR-3 > Keeley Comp > TC electronic Sus > T-rex > OCD > Octafuzz > RC Booster > Phaser and in loop chorus and delay
i am using a Mesa/Boogie Triaxis preamp and a VHT 2/50/2 power amp
and id like ot know if i use the Triaxis in front of the pedals or after ( guitar > Triaxis > then pedals ) or what .....
i am after the distortion sound that Guthrie has got as lead without all the excess gain and noise ........
Doesn't the wah need some sort of buffering in front of it? _________________ Fabulous powers were revealed to me the day I held my magic Suhr(d) aloft and said "by the power of great scale!"
Haven't got a clue about some of those pedals but I have owned a Triaxis. To get a nice smooth lead sound out of that gear I'd use the MKIV setting and work with the EQ to try and get a nice sound. I'm not sure it'll sound similar sound to GG's but it'll be good.
I think the signal chain is ok...but if you want something closer to guthrie's tone a mesa boogie triaxis will not get you there..thats for sure...plus do make sure ur not confusing his tone with his fingers.....whati mean is..if u see a video of him playing clean you'll know that lots of his tone comes from his fingers _________________ Wonderfully Slippery
