I've decided to do a no-nonsense study on Guthrie Govan for my third year if Uni. It requires playing, transcribing and making a backing track of three solos of his. I'm not at the same technical (or soulful) level as him so I am choosing the solos that look the easiest, but sound really good.
That last one is hard. I've already learned and made backing tracks of the first two. Anyway this thread is for any thoughts on this, and any advice people have for me if there is any. I also have to write an analysis of each solo afterwards, talking about why he played certain licks and what his inspirations are.
