first, here's a big hello to all the forum members second, i have a question to all uk/london residents and those familiar with the bassment's whereabouts i will be in london from july 21st to 26th, mostly because high voltage festival is taking place in victoria's park for the weekend. so, i figured i might as well try and catch guthrie's gig on 22nd. can anyone tell me is it possible to get from central london to the bassment by means of public transportation? or better yet, if someone from the london area is going to the gig and is willing to give a ride to a lovely lady and her not-so-lovely boyfriend, we'd very much appreciate it and would pay for your effort thanx for reading |

The basement isnt in London
its in Chelmsford which is 30 miles outside of London, you can get a train there, but not back

thanx for the info, i've done my homework on google maps and saw where chelmsford is. it would be too good to be true, to see all those amazing bands at high voltage and as a bonus, to see guthrie... well, better luck next time i guess. thanx again... |

Like the previous poster says, getting to the Basement from London is a no brainer. Hop the train at Liverpool St, get off at Chelmsford and walk a very short distance (<100 yards). The show will finish AFTER the last train to London has left, so you'll need to stay over in Chelmsford and then go back to London in the morning. |

That or leave before the show finishes...
It'd be terrible not to see the whole set, but sacrifices have to be made when relying on trains for gigs. |
